Technology and data driven solutions are the core of our product recommendation product and the Data Science team is a backbone team for maintaining and improving these systems.

We are looking for a new Data Scientist to join this team to work with our vast array of data to improve current solutions by innovating and applying ML and data driven solutions to provide real world value.

As a Data Scientist at Virtusize you will be helping team continue to improve and maintain and innovate our solutions, with the goal of growing our solutions into an international market player and making Virtusize the standard solution for the Asian online fashion industry.

Some examples of project you may work on:

• Developing predictive systems and create efficient algorithms to improve data quality and user experience
• Creating/owning client performance dashboards to track the business’ success metrics
• Monitoring uptime, latency, and integration optimisations that affect client performance
• Collaborating with the design and development teams to determine how our service could be optimised to suit the needs of customers
• Building and maintaining computer vision models
• Designing and building data analysis systems for large data sets
• Mining and analysing data to drive optimisations and product development
• Identifying trends and opportunities that will further our future growth

You will be working alongside an inspiring cross-functional team and will be part of our product lifecycle, including sprint plannings, retrospectives and product reviews. Our senior team members will provide consequent learning opportunities.

Requirements

As a Data Scientist, you will ideally have:

• Expertise in Python
• Knowledge of and experience with key data and ML frameworks such as:
  • scikit-learn, Pytorch(or Tensorflow), pandas, Matplotlib/Seaborn etc.
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning algorithms.
• Ability to extract informative insights from data to drive technical and business decisions.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database systems.
• Business-level English language skills (Japanese language skills are a plus!)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for data science and a desire to learn new things.
